Lightfoot
has
written poems that were included as liner notes on his album jackets on
only
three occasions. In each instance they greatly enhanced the overall
package and offer a tantalizing glimpse into what Lightfoot might have
to offer should he at some point decide to publish a complete volume of
poetry. For Gord's Gold Volume I he recounted the career steps that had
brought him to that point. In the case of the 1999 box set
retrospective, Songbook,
Lightfoot wrote an intro and followed that with comments on each
individual song included in the set. So here you have it, each of the
Lightfoot
penned liner notes/poems:
BACK HERE ON
EARTH - 1968
DON QUIXOTE - 1972
